We will be hosting our Annual General Meeting on Thursday January 8th at Haydon Community Hall, 2503 Concession 8, Haydon, at 7pm. Everyone is welcome to attend.  We will be reviewing our constitution and discussing events for the future.

Registration opens Dec 10, 7am for residents and Wed. Dec 17 for non residents. Registration online is preferred at www.clarington.net/BeActive or call 905-623-3379 ext 2552 for assistance.

Thursday am: Yoga (55+) 9:30am  Jan 8-Mar 26

Saturday am: Yoga 10:30 am Jan 10th – Mar 21

**also if you wish to join a 55+ class and you are not 55 you are welcome to join.  Just call and speak to a coordinator at the Municipality.

Farm to Table Lunch: March 18, 12:00 noon – 1:30 pm

This lunch is hosted by the Municipality of Clarington and has always delivered a delicious locally sourced warm meal served to you at our quaint Haydon Hall.  Sign up for this lunch at http://www.clarington.net with the code: 49866. The registration says 55+ but all are welcome!!

 

This is a Haydon tradition.  Folks from the Haydon community gather for shared food and song with some of our local musicians accompanying our Carol sing.  Dinner served at 6pm.  Hope to see some new Haydon folks out to meet our friendly community.

As many have noticed the rental of our hall has been on hold for some time.  We have had some changes affecting the structure of the community hall board and have settled on a new relationship with the Municipality of Clarington.  We continue to host our popular kids Halloween party, our Christmas pot luck carol sing and other community events.  There will be a rink this winter as well. There are many fitness classes and activities being offered at Haydon Hall, but rental are somewhat restricted.

We have some good news however.  The hall has been made available for rent on the first Saturday of each month from noon-6pm.  This would have to be a non alcoholic event and would be perfect for a friends luncheon, a crafting/makers get together, a baby shower or little ones birthday party.

Our popular yoga classes are ongoing.  We have 2 yoga classes and one 20/20/20 class. New this fall is a Yoga-lates class as well as Dance and Tone.

Please contact the Municipality of Clarington to enrol.  www.clarington.net/BeActive.  All classes just began the week of September 22nd and run until the end of the week of Dec 2nd. All classes are currently full.  The next registration day is Dec 10th.

The schedule is as follows:

Haydon Summer Social

Potluck supper for folks in Haydon and those who attend classes and are part of our greater Haydon Community.  Bring a dish to share and beverages for your family.  Games to play, playground available, lots of folks to catch up with.  See you there!

We are pleased to announce the creation of our Haydon Community Association.  As a small community, we have decided to let the Municipality of Clarington share in some of the work of running the hall.  The MOC will henceforth handle the rental of the hall.  We hope everyone who has rented in the past will continue to look to Haydon Hall to host their family gatherings.  We know that for many people in the community, Haydon Hall has become part of their family ritual of celebration.  We sincerely hope this can continue and please reach out with questions and concerns to haydoncommunityhall@gmail.com.

As an Association, we plan to continue to host our musical events, skating parties, Halloween kids event and spring clean up.  Please check out our events page to see what’s happening including our long standing yoga classes and fitness.

If you have ideas about our changing community, and what programming you and your family would like to see at the hall, please reach out.  We welcome new members to our Association and will help facilitate new ideas that bring community together.

Effective November 1, the Municipality of Clarington will assume operations of the Haydon Community Hall.  All existing rentals will be honoured, and a representative from the Municipality will contact you soon to discuss next steps.

Please note:

NO NEW BOOKINGS WILL BE ACCEPTED FOR THE PERIOS FROM NOVEMBER 1 TO DECEMBER 31.
